CES 2011: Polaroid and Lady Gaga introduce some sort of weird glasses that take pictures while you’re wearing them
It’s an interesting technology— sunglasses with a built-in camera that take pictures from your first person perspective while you’re wearing them that then display the image on the inside of the glass, but it seemed a little awkward having Lady Gaga there to demonstrate this new tech, even if it was apparently Gaga who sort of came up with the idea apparently.
“These glasses can be worn in public, you can walk around, you can take them to a club, take them to a show of mine, take pictures while I sing on stage,” she said, tongue-in-cheek. “But this is something that I envisioned many years ago. We’re bridging fashion and technology.”
Since this newspost hit the ‘Net, more than one blogger has scoffed at the notion that Lady Gaga “invented” these camera glasses; those familiar with Transmetropolitan added that Warren Ellis has dibs on “firsties”. To all of it, I say “meh…”. Both of them, along with hundreds of others, simultaneously coming up with the idea is certainly in the realm of possibilities. As long as my pair can look like this, I’m a daisy:
Long-story-short, my queue has been emptied and now I need to replenish it. Figured I’d restart my posts by reposting this video that Miss Merrick found several weeks back. Regardless of your opinion of Gaga, this is an amusing video. Especially to those in cubicle farms. Enjoy!
